Create With Christy — This One's For You, Mamas

You know that feeling when you finally sit down and just make something?

No agenda. No one asking you for anything. Just you, some paint, some paper, and a Tuesday morning that belongs entirely to you.

That's what Christy built.

Create With Christy is a weekly adult creative session at Permission To Play — collage, watercolor, and art journaling every Tuesday morning from 11am to 1pm. It's warm, it's fun, and it fills something back up that gets emptied out pretty fast when you're taking care of everyone else.

While you create, your kids (ages 4 and up) get to play with art too — right next door in the same building, just on the other side of a closed door. Two hours where you both create in your own space. And one of the most rewarding parts for Christy and Krystin is what happens at the end — when you show each other what you made. Kids say the kindest things about their mom's art. It's a direct reflection of how supportive and encouraging moms are. You can only imagine the compliments those kids have received about their own work over the years — and in that moment you get to see it all come back around.

Moms show up for each other here. There's something about sitting around a table making things together that makes people open up, laugh, share, and breathe. It's the Tuesday morning you didn't know you needed.

And here's the part that makes it even better — a portion of every session goes directly toward donating art journals and art journaling supplies to women's shelters in our community. So when you show up for yourself on Tuesday morning, you're also showing up for someone else.

Why we created a day for moms to create?

Even when you are just doodling with a pen and paper — that's your brain saying let me play. We have more than pen and paper here. Rip beautiful images out of a magazine and collage with the colors you love. Watch watercolor move across the page and follow where it wants to go. Pick up a really fun marker and just see what happens. Two hours of making whatever you want with people who get it. And through all of it Christy gently and beautifully guides you through accepting what's happening in front of you and encouraging you to just play with art.

Summer is coming and Create with Christy is your Tuesday morning. A place where someone puts on music and the only thing on the agenda is making something. Only 10 spots available.
